Foreign Affairs Office

  Foreign Affairs Office of GZUN is a functional organization responsible for schoolwork related to foreign affairs. It is designated to carry out national foreign policies and educational policies in relation to foreign affairs. She bears double duty of strictly following foreign policies and foreign affairs management. Specifically, FAO is to manage, guide, coordinate, and provide service for any foreign-related work in the school.
  Foreign Affairs Office of GZUN is a parallel institution to FAO with the same staff. Every office is to work in coordination with other offices. The duty are as follows:
  1. Responsible for routines and logistic work of Foreign Affairs Office.
  2. To gather information of the reception of foreign guests; to make out a weekly reception schedule, and to finalize a monthly brief report on its work on foreign and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan affairs.
  3. To prepare Introductory Brochure and gifts for foreign guests.
  4. Documentation of the foreign affairs.
  5. To make out plans for employment of long-term foreign experts, to arrange for their visa, residence, extension, credential renewal; to plan weekend activities and vacations, and to summarize the teaching and foreign affairs.
  6. To make out annual plans of employing short-term experts; to apply for the approval of the plan; to arrange activities for them, to choose a model program and to write performances summaries.
  7. To hold international conferences. To help different colleges, departments and institutions in submitting application to the Ministry of Education, to see to the setup of conference organization committee; to arrange visa for the foreign guests; to participate in the conference organization work, and to finalize a report on its work to the Ministry of Education and other authorities.
  8. To accept the applications for the titles of "consulting professor", "honorary professor", "honorary doctor", and "honorary and consulting researcher"; to submit them to the school directors and on approval arrange for detailed work such as the speech, layout of the venue concerning awarding ceremonies.
  9. To finalize a half-year, annual and five-year plans including relative materials, graphs, statistics and files in compliance with the requirements of the State, the Ministry of Education, Shanghai municipal education commission, and Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau.
  10. Inter-University Exchange
  a. To study the potential sister universities for future cooperation, to draft agreements and to arrange signing ceremony.
  b. To arrange and promote academic and project exchanges and cooperation with foreign universities and institutions in agreement with GZUN.
  c. To select students and faculty for exchange projects together with the HR Department, the Student Office
  11. Routine Reception
  a. Reception assigned by the Foreign Ministry, the Education Ministry, the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, and the Provincial Education Committee.
  b. Reception of foreign visitors to assist the work of the Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Chinese Academy of Social Science, and other research institutions and universities.
  c. Reception of foreign visitors in accordance with inter-university agreements and other foreign VIPs.
  d. Arrangement of the foreign visits of the school leaders.
  e. Exploration with international exchanges, and promotion of informational work.
  12. Arrangement for the regular and irregular exchange students or those from other universities, and communication between GZUN and foreign ventures and institutions.
  13. Promotion of international joint programs and projects between the schools of GZUN and those of foreign universities and apply to the International Cooperation Division of the State Education Ministry for them.
